How can we change the way people feel about eating insects? Mushi is my vision for the future of food, created as a final design project at Berghs School of Communication.
The idea was to make something new but vaguely familiar. Kind of like sushi from the future. The word Insect litterally means "cut into sections", which is just what I did. I took the japanese sign for insect and cut it up into pieces that could be used to create a wide variety of patterns.
Together with strong colors, bold typography and crisp imagery, the result was a sophisticated and vibrant identity that might make the idea of eating insects feel a little less distant.
